As the Dr. stated there are changes in the breast tissue during the menstrual cycle. Even though this is true you should by all means go for the additional views as recommended. Whatever was seen on Mammogram was not a mistake ... and the additional views will certainly clear this up. Kindest regards ....
Hi. During the second half of the menstrual cycle (after ovulation and leading up to menstruation), estrogen levels are higher in the woman's body. This results in retention of fluid in the breasts, and in the proliferation of the breast glands. If a mammogram were done at this time, the breasts may appear to be denser and contain areas which may mimic the appearance of a breast lump. So, ideally, a mammogram should be done a week after menstruation, when all these breast changes have already resolved.
