Sharp Pain

I have not been diagnosed with breast cancer, but there is a very strong family history of breast cancer.  Two weeks ago I started getting sharp pains in my left breast when I bend over or swing my left arm forward.   I am concerned because of the family history, I have also been under severe stress over the last few months.  I do not have medical right now so I can't see a Dr.  Does anyone have the same problem, I am 53 and going thru menopause

Hi,
First of all, pain in the breasts is almost never associated with breast cancer.
However,in very rare occasions breast cancer pain is usually unilateral, persistent, and constant in position.
From what you describe the pain could be due to many things,like for example a pulled muscle or a nerve problem,since it's felt only when you do certain movements.Being under stress,can also be causing pain and so does hormonal changes in your body since are you going through menopause.
A visit to your doctor is certainly recommended though for a correct diagnosis, because you have a strong family history of breast cancer.
