Hello. I have had a thick white nipple discharge coming from my left breast on and off for approximately one year along with itching, deep breast pain, and a light colored nipple rash. It generally comes out only when squeezed, although sometimes I will notice a tiny bit on my nipple without expressing it. Four years ago after I gave birth I had a terrible case of thrush and that breast pain was the same as what I am feeling now, only I am no longer nursing. My OBGYN did not test the discharge but just advised that I was fine and I should put some jock itch cream on my nipple. That has not helped. Is it possible that now, as a non-nursing mom (I stopped two years ago), that I have a mammary ductal yeast infection? Or should I see a breast specialist? I do have a low immune system from taking steroids for asthma. Thank you.
