What is the connection between French fries and breast cancer?

I heard there is a connection between breast cancer and eating large amounts of French fries.  I heard doctors can even predict who will get breast cancer by the amount of fries they ate in childhood.  This really scares me as I have a niece who eats a pound of fries at a sitting several times a week.  She has been doing this for over 30 years. Can anyone inform me?

Hi,
Since your niece doesn't actually have a breast cancer issue,I would recommend posting in the "Nutrition Forum" that could provide information that might be of interest to you.

LOL ... that's VERY interesting indeed. The only connection that I can see is the fact that eating an unusual amount of French fries is that this would be a good example of a VERY UNHEALTHY diet. Considering the amount of FAT and SALT I would think that a person would be a better candidate for Heart Disease than Breast Cancer. IF and that's a HUGE IF ... this were even close to being true, why blame French fries ?? OR we better stop eating potatoes AND fried foods all together !!!!  Have a good day and EAT HEALTHY :)
