You are welcome!
I am sure your question will be answered by the Breast Specialist after he/she evaluates your films and decide if a biopsy is needed in your case.Your GP is just being cautious because you have a close family history, but the Specialist's opinion is the one you should have confidence in and who will certainly let you know how to proceed okay?
Take care...
Thank you for the advice Zouzi. I have contacted my General Practitioner and asked why the biopsy. he indicated it is because i am classified as a high risk patient because my mother had cancer. They want to have the lump ruled out. I did ask to see another specialist. My GP agreed to send me to a new specialist but will be indicating to this specialist to do biopsy. Do you still think a biopsy is necessary if at high risk.
Hi,
BIRADS Category 2 is added on tests reports when
breasts are the same size and shape and tissue looks normal. Any cysts, fibroadenomas,or other masses appear benign.
I have no idea why your Doctor performed a biopsy in the first place and now wants you to have an additional one.Biopsies are recommended when the BIRADS score is 4 or 5 and not 2, which always indicates a benign finding.
The best advice I could give you is to seek a second opinion, preferably from a Breast Specialist.Take your films and reports with you and see what he/she advises you to do.
Best wishes..
