Yellow stains in my bra

I'm unsure why but I have yellow stains in my bra.  At one time I did notice a milky discharge and my regular dr. ordered a mammo.  It showed nothing.  Recently my GYN said not to have another one for several years.  I'm thinking of calling him and asking why these stains are showing up.  Does anyone know why or what causes this?  It scares me because one site did say that a yellow discharge is a sign of breast cancer.  My grandmother had it when I was very young.  Thanks to anyone that can give me some helpful answers!!

I don't want to scare you,but I want to warn you that go for the further test. My sister is dignosed with Microcalcification and some discharge from her right breast(Breast Cancer) and Mastectomy has performend ASAP. Since you have a family history of Breast Cancer, don't take it easy and also don't be panic. In my family we don't have a family history of breast cancer and also she is very young. She is just36 years old and a mother of 6yrs and 2yrs old kids. My prayers are with you. Don't get nerves, but go for the further tests.

Dear Lisa361:  Many women have some type of nipple discharge or fluid when their breasts are squeezed, and its normal. Squeezing the nipple sends message to the brain and the pituitary gland responds by increasing prolactin levels, which in turn produces discharge from the nipple.  The discharge can come in a variety of colors - gray, green and brown as well as white.  Some women are more prone to more discharge including women on; birth control pills, certain blood pressure medications or on major tranquilizers.  These medications increase prolactin levels in the body.   There is also certain life periods when a person is more likely to get discharge than others: there may be more discharge at puberty and at menopause than the years in-between. The time to worry about nipple discharge is when it’s spontaneous (comes out by itself without squeezing), keeps on happening, and is only on one side.  If it is clear and sticky, like an egg white, or bloody.  If you remain concerned, you should have this evaluated by your doctor.
