birth control for eleven years

for the past week i have felt some discomfort in my left breast on the side near my arm, it is not in one area but feels like it goes all around.  I have just gotten off my period is it normal to feel this in only one breast if it is related to my period.  Also i never had any problems until i stopped taking my birth control pills about 4 months ago.  Does birth control pills sometimes supress the feelings in your breast.  I am a bad worrier, even though i have not felt any lumps im still scared and worried.  Some help pleazzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

It could be on one or both sides even if it is related to hormonal disturbances, but it should resolve once your menstrual cycle is over or immediately after it ends.

Have you seen your doctor as yet?

Have you tried warm compresses and breast massage?

Let us know about how you are doing and if you have any other doubts.

Regards.

i am only 26, ive not noticed and skin change or nipple discharge, and the discomfort is not constant, it is more a burning sensation on the outside near the underarm around the bottom of my breast, the underneath. does pain with your period always end with your period or can it continue for days after if it is period related? And if it is period related can it be in only one breast?

Hi,

What is your age? Do you notice any other abnormal features on breast self examination like skin changes, nipple discharge, etc?

Birth control pills and menstrual cycles are both associated with hormonal changes and this is known to cause certain changes in the breast tissue alongwith pain, tenderness and lumpiness.

You could get a proper clinical evaluation done by your breast specialist or doctor and find out the possible cause of your symptoms.

Try some warm compresses and breast massage and see if it helps with your symptoms.

Let us know what your doctor advises and also if you have any doubts.

Keep us posted about how you are doing.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
