bone cancer

I went for a bone scan they injected the radio active material into the vein and then  I went in for the scan and the only place they detected the radio active material was on the injection site. So they could not do the bone scan. What could have happened to the radio active material.

Usually there is at least a 90 min. wait between the injection and a test run and the actual scan. You didn't mention this but I'm sure you experienced this wait and drank a lot of water and emptied your bladder during the 90 min. wait. The only possibility I can think of is that the material was not injected into a vein but into the surrounding tissue. I hope you were re-scheduled for another scan in the near future.  Regards .....
