breast cancer symptoms?

about a month ago, I noticed lymph nodes in my neck being painful.  Then my elbow started hurting, then my arms got really sore.  Next the left arm was really painful and slightly swollen and my neck and chest lymph nodes got more swollen.  my doctor said a virus or infection and gave me antibiotics.  that was two weeks ago.  I have since had my yearly mammogram and was told i had to come back for further studies.  I have a nodule in my left breast that is bigger than last year.  I was never told it was even there.  it is microlobular?  I have to now have a biopsy.  I now have an area on my left breast that looks like a bug bite.  it is red with a open center.  I know it is not a bug bite but am concerned with IBC.  That is what my sister died of.  my doctor said he doesn't think so but he hasn't seen it and insists I wait till my apt. in 2 weeks.  should I mention it to the radiologist who is doing the biopsy?  I am sure he will see it anyway.

thank you. I had the biopsy of the nodule deep inside the left breast but the person doing the biopsy had problems with getting a sample.  He said he couldn't get any of it in the tube, and he had to reposition it.  Now I get the pathology report that says "normal fatty tissue" and very possible non representative sample".  My pcp says it said normal so he believes it is fine.  I asked for a second opinion but he refuses. I wouldn't worry so much except for the fact that the guy had such a hard time getting the stuff in the first place.  Still working on a resolution.

Hi,
It's really hard to say...but usually IBC has also other symptoms like an increase in breast size over a relatively short period of time. (sometimes a cup size in a few days)
itching, that is unrelenting and unrelieved by oral drugs or topical agents, pink, red or dark-colored areas on the breast, sometimes with peau d'orange (texture similar to the skin of an orange, thickened areas of the skin, nipple flattening or retraction, nipple discharge, breast is excessively warm to the touch and pain which is constant or stabbing.
If your only symptom is this red spot,I would guess that it could be an infection of some sort, that's causing the lymph nodes in your body to swell.
A biopsy is surely the best approach to find out what is going on and mentioning to the radiologist your family history of BC would seem logical.

Hoping that it's nothing serious and wishing you all the best and good luck!!
