calcification pain

should it hurt

I'm guessing you had a mammogram or some similar test showing that you have microcalcifications. As to your question about pain, the answer would be NO. They are tiny specks only visible by X-ray within the breast tissue and they occur normally. They can be an indication of an underlying problem when they are seen in clusters or certain patterns.

Hi.

Calcifications in itself should not cause pain, not unless the associated lump gets too big that it has a compression effect.  Also, it is important to note that the pain can be due to associated hormonal changes that may stimulate the breast tissues and can indeed cause pain.
