hair loss, tamoxifin

I was trying to read the questions- and the answers to questions- about hair loss on Tamoxifin. From the letters you have recieved, I think it is much more prevelent than stated. Is there any help for this condition?

I have been on Tamoxifen for about 6 months. I noticed early on that my eye lashes seemed to stop growing (after the initial regrowth after chemo.) I had half lashes. Now I keep pulling out chunks of eye brows & lashes! I'm 34 and I'm an actor- I need my hair to survive in my career. I fought to live for acting & now my career could be ruined by this. How is all this worth it?

Although hair loss isn't listed as one of the side effects of Tamoxifen, it does occur. The only help would be stopping the drug and thereby it's action which of course is not advisable. In the meantime it's whatever type of cover-up makes you feel comfortable with the condition ... or nothing if you aren't bothered too much with the results.   Regards ....
