is it just a clogged montgomery gland?

Around 5 days ago, after taking a shower i noticed a small bump in my areola that looked like an enlarged montgomery gland. The next day, after taking a shower i dried myself with a towel and the skin on top of it came off and it revealed to be red. Now, the it’s like the skin has grown back but it’s dry. It doesn’t hurt, it hasn’t changed in size either, but it’s still there. I’m 19, and my period’s late, so maybe it has something to do with hormones, but i’m just worried it may be something worse. Am i overthinking?
