itchy breasts

Hi everyone, Yesterday my 17 year old daughter was scratching her breasts, and asked me if my breasts were always itchy as she always has itchy breasts.. I know that this is sometimes a indication that something could be wrong...should I be concerned, since I am going through the whole breast cancer thing right now? My cancer is HER 2 +, ER + PR+ BRAC -... I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I just thought I would tell you that.
Thanks,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
Breasts itchiness in teenagers is not a sign of breast cancer, especially if it involves both breasts. It could indicate an allergy to the soap in which she washes her bras, or the material in her bras.Girls with developing breasts often experience itching as  skin stretches. Please advise your daughter to try using a lotion to the skin or an ant-itch lotion to see if she gets relief. If she still feels very uncomfortable, she should be checked by a dermatologist,in case she has developed a skin problem that needs special medication.
Best wishes to both of you...
