lesion

What is a hypoechoic lesion that does not demonstrate clear through transmission that is lobulated and outlined, has fine internal echoes and it's wall is minimally irregular?

Thanks! I thought so too and had the specialist look at it. She agreed and said a biopsy is definitely required. I will have the ultrasound guided core biopsy done in 2 days! I'm not sure what to expect, but this not knowing is worse on me. I have a history of my mother with breast cancer that even came back over 10years later in her lung.

Thanks again for your comment.

Just waithing for results now.

I believe that what you are describing are breast ultrasound findings.  Hypoechoic lesions are abnormal structures that can be cystic or fluid filled.  These could also be due to nodules or lumps that can be both benign or malignant.  Factors that can point out to a possible malignancy would include gritty, irregular borders, complex cysts (those with concomitant internal echoes), or those with associated skin dimpling.

In your situation, I believe the best course of action is to pursue a biopsy, whether fine needle or excision biopsy to rule out a possible malignancy.

Regards and God bless.
