A related discussion,
lump under my arm was started.
I am 51 years old and there is no cancer in my family history. I found a lump under my arm pitt a few days ago. It came up very fast within two days. I would have noticed it had it been there before. It's red and sore. I was trimming trees in my yard the day before I noticed it with my arms over my head and something may have bitten me but I didn't feel or notice anything. I thought I would wait a few days to see if it goes away before I go to the doctor. Are cancer lumps red and sore? Do they appear within a few days? Are the lumps hard? I would appreciate any responses. Thank you
Hi deaj, just wondered if you found out what your lump is. I have a small pea size painful lump under my arm that appeared Sunday. I had shaved Saturday (so I know it wasn't there then) and just wondered if it has something to do with that. Any ideas?
On Friday, (today is Sunday) I noticed a "lump" in my underarm.
It is very uncomfortable, but it is not red.
I can feel it with my fingers and "kind of" pick it up. Meaning it feels like it is more to the surface of the skin.
I can not see an ingrown hair, and does not seem to be a "pimple"
but it does hurt, and is about the size of a small grape.
I only just noticed it, so I do not know how long it has been there. When I lift my arm I feel discomfort. I am 44 years old and I have been told I have cysts like ALL OVER ME.
When I had my last screaning I was told I was fine but have alot of cysts that was about 18 months ago. I plan on calling the Doctor in the morning, but I go to an office that can squeeze you in like in 10 days.
Should I wait, or see an ER doctor?
How concerned should I be?
Dear shmelly: Without an examination it is impossible for us to speculate on what this lump might be. Our advise is to have this checked out by your doctor. Then, based on the examination, appropriate recommendations can be made.
