measurements of nodule

I have 2 solid masses in my right breast and am trying to decipher the measurements. the smaller one is 1.7cm x 0.50cm x 1.0cm. is that height, length width in that order? the reason that I am curious is that I have read that cancer grows vertically, and that masses that are taller then wide are more suspicious. Can anyone answer that for me

Hi,
You are right, the measurement you mentioned are in that order and the lump is taller than wider.Even though the shape looks more suspicious than others, there is really no way to tell for sure what this solid mass may represent, until a biopsy is performed and the tissue analyzed by a pathologist. You don't say what your radiologist recommended, but there are quite a few lesions that look suspicious on x-ray,but turn out to be benign when biopsied.
I wish you well and I hope that the nodule you are concerned about,is nothing else than a benign finding.
Good luck!
