pain in shoulders and hips

Hi I had breast cancer in sept 2010 and went through 6 cycles of fec-t chemo and 31 sessions of radiotherapy, i finished my last treatment in June 2011 and have started getting joint pain especially in my shoulders and hip it is worse in the morning where i find myself walking like I have been frozen over night, i have had a bone scan but not got results back yet, but obviously i am thinking the worse, hopefully its just paranoia!, does anyone recommend anything other than paracetamol that can ease the pain, would be grateful, thanks.

Not enough info Chrissy :)

Did you take tamoxifen or any of the aromatase inhibitors? They cause LOTS of stiffness and joint pain. Mine hit like a ton of bricks approximately 2 months after starting it. Exercise is the best I can offer to you to ease the pain. Believe me, I remember it vividly. Chemo started the process for me but it was the hormone blockers that really took it to a new level. I walked and moved like an 80 yr old woman.

Are you on any of these medicines?
Best wishes.

Hi Sue,

Thanks for replying, no have had no medication apart from the injections between chemo, garnsonite i think they where called, but they made my bones hurt at the time, my cancer was not hormone based so i couldnt have tamoxifen. i get pain lying down at night especially if i lay on my hip so flipping uncomfortable.

Best wishes   ;)
