Period after weaning

Hi ladies! I just recently weaned my 1yr old and am still getting over the engorgement. I got my first period back at the beginning of October. I should've gotten it again on the 30th but it has yet to appear. I haven't taken a test yet because I wanted till was a full week past my period. Has anyone has any issues with their period being irregular when they started weaning? I didn't go cold turkey, dropped a feeding then waited 3-4 days before dropping another. I don't feel like I'm pregnant but I know its possible! Anyone experienced something similar?
thanks!!!

Hi britni84,

it's VERY common for your period to be irregular after you stop nursing. It can take up to 6 months or so to get back on a regular cycle. Good luck!

It didn't happen to me, but I know someone who when they started to feed less they slowly got there period back, and for them it's still not regular (There feeding once or twice a day still).  It might not be regular for you until after you completely stop.

wow we could have written the same post. I was going through this all last week. My first period after breastfeeding for one year was last month. I was due to have last wed but was having alot of pregnancy symptoms and was actually hoping to have a BFP when I tested. I gave in and took a test this morning and BFN. :( around 4 oclock AF came. She was 5 days late. Before I got pregnant I was very regular with my periods.. I am talking every 28 days I would get my period! I assumed it would go right back to the way it was. But maybe ours bodies just need time to adjust. Good LUck
