medications

Hi ladies.  What medication can i take for cold while nursing? My throat bothering me and i started coughing. It is sunday, so i can't call my doc today.

I know Benedryl is safe. That can help with an itchy throat. There's a list you can google "safe cold medications during pregnancy" too. But I was nervous taking anything other than Benedryl when I got sick. One thing that helped me soooo much was warm water with fresh lemon juice and honey. I drank that before bed and it was a lifesaver!

Im so sorry... I read that wrong. You want to know for breast feeding, not pregnancy. Oops!

I would think that the same medecine that is safe during pregnancy is safe to take as well while breastfeeding

Thank you all! I am doing a lot of hot tea or warm milk with honey. It helps. Not as fast as medications... but i decided to give it a try.
