The prognosis sounds poor since you describe his condition as getting worsel  Without information such as pathology and reports of CT scans, we cannot provide more information.Have you gone to the doctors visits with your parents?  That would help alot.

hi, im sophie, my dad was diagnosed  two years ago with cancer of the oesphagus and i later found on that he now has liver metatases. My dad is 70 years old and is attending the hospitl regularly for scans and tests etc, but my mum and dad are very secretive about it all and think its best to keep it all away from me to protect me. I think about it all the time and get vey upset and i do find it hard to sleep. I've tried to speak with them but all i ever get is that they're waiting for results, well i know it doesn't take a week for any results to come through, but mum and dad think it can take a year!... My dad can hardly walk and when he does he uses walking sticks and gets very breathless with the slightest of movement. Please could you suggest a prognosis for me because id really like to know what to expect because i haven't got a clue. From research, ive heard its not good, but it's been two years now???... He also has very bad arthritis i canot remember the exact name for it, but he has a wheelchair and takes many tablets has he constantly has excruciating pain. Please please please could you help, really, i would like a prognosis. Please, thats all the info i have to give you. Please help, love Sophie. x

Sorry about your Father's condition.  We do need more information such as father's age, type of cancer, the cell type, prior history of cancer, hepatitis B status.

The reason that we need this information is so we can better answer the question of type of chemo, ablation of tumor,  if surgery is possible.

Please provide this information.

Thank you
