Rash on Left side after bilateral mastectomy

I had a bilateral mastectomy on 7/27/07 due to a > 1cm lcis tumor. The sentinel node, and all other test were good and no other treatment recommended. Of course I have the option to go on the hormone treatment if I want to.
I developed a rash with heat on the Left chest, site of the mastectomy. I have had it for about 4 weeks. Not a problem. I saw a oncologist 2 weeks ago, she saw it and said it looked ok as long as it didn't bother me.
Today it seems to have spread out wider and is redder and hotter than usual. Should I be concerned?  Is this kind of rash common.
Thanks

No topical or antibiotic or anything different in the diet.

The rash and heat are not normal. Are you using a topical agent or antibiotic which could cause a rash.
