Colon cancer, stomach pain, tired and barely eating

My husband has type 4 colon cancer and it's been 4 months since his surgery. He has a wound and a colostamy bag, and his wound is almost closed. (had it opened again for a staph infection, which is gone) He has pain in the stomach, gets very tired quickly after a walk  and is barely eating.  Is it normal, or should he see his Dr. sooner than his appointment in a week or two?  Thank you very much. Karen

Thank you for your reply!! I am also sorry to hear about your mom. It is a hard life not knowing how to help your loved ones. All you can do is ask people who are going through it now, or has gone through it. My husband is a normal (hard-headed) man and doesn't want to go to the Doctors office until his appointment. I finally told him not to wait like he did before he had to go to the emergency office and he agreed. He is going to call in the morning. His staph infection has gone away. The wound closed up last night when I cleaned it and put a new 4x4 on it.  I bought him some vanilla ensure about 2 weeks ago and he won't drink it, so I will. I love the taste. I bought the chocolate, but doubt he will like it. Shucks, I'll have to drink it....lol.
We might have an idea why he is feeling this way. He's been taking elixers and I told him to get off of it, and it's been about a week and he feels a little better than he's been. He can't get to chemo until medicaid accepts him.
Thanks again for your help, and God bless you and your mother!  Karen

I am so sorry to hear this. my mom was just diagnosed with the same thing in Sept. she luckily able to have her colon resected, she does have a small appitie but it goes through her.. I would see your doctor or at least call. theyhave her on foods high in calories like ensure, take with ice cream and things becasue it really doesn't taste too good. but I would call  becasue what is normal in one person it might not be in another, especially if he had a staph infection... hugs to you both
