Could this be cervial cancer?

I am 36 years old and have had a couple of years of pain that has not been diagnosed. I have had 3 kidney stones, all of which I have had to have lithotripsy. Last year, I had some abnormal bleeding, basically bleeding started out as every 2 weeks, then it got to the point where out of 1 month, I bled all but 4 days. I have painful intercourse, unusual discharge (not odorous but clear/white and sometimes pretty moderate in amount- I notice its more when I am ovulating), had 1 abnormal pap, which I was told was just the abnormal cells nothing to worry too much about. I have a hx of ovarian cysts, went on the pill for a while, had an iud put in for the bleeding but after a 2nd opinion, had it taken out and had a d&c and ablation about 2 months ago. I have a fibroid also. I have chronic RLQ pain and chronic right flank pain. Through a check up with my urologist, I found out I have hydronephrosis. He said I had it last year, but I don't remember them saying anything about it. My question is,,should I be concerned about cervical cancer? I have all of the symptoms of it,,but would that be something that would be diagnosed through the pathology from the d&c? My sister had breast cancer at age 35 and no one else in my family has any gyn type of cancer. I also have been worked up for lupus, which I know is hard to diagnose, but I have all fo the symptoms except abnormal blood work. I am so frustrated at this point. I feel horrible every day and all I hear is that its stress related. I don't see how abnormal vaginal bleeding and constant flank pain is stress related, but I don't know where else to turn at this point. I appreciate any input anyone can give to me..thanks so much!

Hi,

According to one study recurrent UTI occur due to the ability of bacteria to attach to cells lining the urinary tract. Good personal hygiene, lots of fluids especially cranberry juice can help minimize the occurrence of UTI.
The most important complication of recurrent UTI is kidney infection   which can present as flank pain. The other cause of flank pain can be hydronephrosis. Please follow up with your urologist. The flank pain cannot be related to stress. Do let me know if you need more information.

Thank you for your response...I do have a small fibroid which I know can cause the bleeding...I have been tested for a fungal infection and the discharge isn't from that,,it's really increased during my ovulation time,,its not odorous or itchy in any way..my + pap was in Dec of 07 and I had another one before the D&C/Ablation...I think I'm just concerned because it has been over 1 year that I am experiencing constant flank pain (I forgot to add that I get recurrent UTI's,,,usually 3-4 /year)...thanks so much for the information!

Hi,

The right lower quadrant pain that you are experiencing could be due to hydronephrosis.
The abnormal bleed in the past may have been due to fibroids.
Abnormal vaginal discharge raises the suspicion of fungal infection. I would suggest you to apply a fungicidal cream and see if it improves your symptoms.
When was this pap test done? I would advise you to get a repeat pap test if it is more than 6 months. Please relax and discuss these possibilities with your doctor. Take care!
