Headache, neck pain, no sleep.

Hello everyone.
It's the second week that I'm having trouble sleeping at night. I can't sleep more than 3 - 5 hours. Along with that i'm having a mild headache but that doesn't go away at all. And a neck pain, this one has been there for some months now.

I have to add a few fits, which are very light, i mean i feel some small muscles shake every now and then, especially when i'm trying to get some sleep, but I don't know maybe this is normal.

I just fear of a brain cancer and I need your advice.
In the year 2000 (i was only 10 years old) I had an accident resulting in 8 hours of coma and a small hematoma in the back of my had. After that I recovered completely.

I don't want that to have caused a brain tumor.
Is there any chance that I might be so unfortunate to have a brain tumor. As for the neck pain, I don't think it might have anything to do with the rest. I might have gotten it while exercising or somethings, but it stays always the same doesn't get more painful or anything.

So, a better word to what I've described as fits above, might be spasms.

Hello doctor,
Thank you so much for your reply. I didn't have the possibility to go do an MRI or CT scan yet but I plan on doing as soon as possible.

I'm actually not having seizures at least I think what I experience are not seizures but I have light involuntary movements like for example at times I feel one of my eye lids shake. Other times some other parts of my body move usually never larger in size than the eye lids. And these involuntary movements are my main reason of panicking and thinking of a brain tumor.

As for the neck pain I don't remember how I got it but it might be because of some body exercises because I remember it started all at once one day after I woke up.

The headache instead, comes and goes. Don't know if all this might be of stress or if this is just hypochondria and I don-t know about it yet.

I just want to feel good as i did before.

Hi,
How are you? The neck pain could be due to musculoskeletal issues and could be directly associated with the headache. Brain tumor usually presents with severe headache and sometimes with seizure and  blurring of vision. To rule this out, imaging studies such as CT scan or MRI may be done. Imaging studies also help determine the cause of the neck pain. Proper posture while sleeping and pain medications may  help provide relief. Take care and do keep us posted.
