Please be proactive. I don't want to scare you but is the lump in your arm pit or below it. Last August I noticed a lump just under my arm pit. It was fairly large and I went to the doctor in Nov. because it wasn't going away. I was told it was just a lypoma and I got an ultrasound done to confirm. After another ultrasound and a ct scan my doctor thought I should get a biopsy done. the surgeon thought it would be best just to remove it. By this point i had another lump on my back which was also thought to be a lypoma. A week after the surgery I was told they were both Lymphomas. Mine has manifested itself in my soft tissue, not my lymph nodes which is pretty rare. Please get it checked out with a biopsy at least. I didn't have insurance when I noticed the lump but I was getting married and my girlfriend was a nurse so I was able to get on her insurance. Good luck!

You can't diagnose yourself... so, you don't know what you have until you're examined by a doctor and undergo tests. Try and see if you can arrange an appointment with a doctor or a clinician at a local county health clinic in your area. Explain your condition and insurance situation. Usually, you can be seen for free or at a low cost. And, if the clinic can't help you, they should know who can.
But, 1 year is way too long to have a swollen lymph gland. It wouldn't necessarily indicate that you have Lymphoma or any other type of Cancer. But, it would suggest that something is triggering your immune system to cause the lymph glands to swell.
Anyway, some things that you'll need to take note of are:
1. changes in the size of the swollen lymph node... has it grown since you first noticed that you have it?
2. are you running a temperature or having fevers?
3. do you experience night sweats?
4. have you had sudden or unexplained weight loss?

It's possible that you have an on-going infection of some sort. You mention being "hormonal." Are you thinking that you may have a malfunctioning Thyroid? Or, are you sensing that you have a hormonal imbalance? It's really impossible to say what's happening without being seen by a medical care provider. Good luck.
