I have difficulty swallowing, could feel something in throat before but got an x-ray and nothing showed up

I've had difficulty swallowing for about 3 weeks and could feel something in my throat about a week ago, it doesn't feel serious but it's pretty annoying, so do you think I should just wait it out or go back to the doctor? Cause the x-ray didn't show anything so it can't be cancer right?

Hi.
You are experiencing difficulty in swallowing with a feeling of a lump in your throat.  There could be a problem somewhere in your orophayngeal area, or in your esophagus.  There are a number of conditions that can bring about these symptoms.  An x-ray may not be sufficient to diagnose a problem.
It would be best to consult your doctor for further evaluation.
Good luck.

I had the same sensation and still do at times. I'm a smoker and my mother died of throat cancer so needless to say I was concerned. I had an ENT take a look (stuck this scope thru my nose into my throat and found nothing abnormal. Stress can cause that sensation - there's a name for it, though I can't remember what it is. Anyway, if it concerns you, make an appt. with an ENT.
