Lump in groin

Hi there, I'm a newbie here. I was diagnosed with melanoma in 2006 and had to have my toe amputated. I have been fine since, however I have been worried about a lump in my groin. The thing is....this morning it's now a bit smaller. Should I assume it's nothing serious since it has reduced in size, and no need to get it checked by dermatologist?
Thanks for reading

Is it a lump or a bump. Under the skin or in the skin.
I had a lump in my groin area went to the doctor (PCD) thinking my ovary was sticking out (like inflamed). He said it was nothing. Fastward 8 years it never went away asked about to my new PCD she said it looked like a hernia.  She sent me to a surgeon and yup that's what it was. The first doctor had no idea what he was talking about.  You can get them anywhere across your abdomen.  Yes they can be pushed in and stay in depending on how small the whole in the lining. Or it could end up being nothing.  But any changes in sizes or color should always be looked at by your doctor especially if it helps with your peace of mind.  I hope something I said helps you a little. Good luck, keep us informed, it's always nice to hear back from people.
