Hello,
How are you?
The doctors are right in prescribing Prev Pak to your mother who is suffering from lymphoma stomach.
Majority of these lymphomas are derived from mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALToma). These lymphomas develop from Helicobacter pylori-chronic gastritis, to low-grade and high-grade lymphoma.
Low-grade gastric MALT lymphoma can be cured by eradication of Helicobacter pylori; but radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy and/or surgery are the major methods of treatment for high grade MALT lymphomas. Complete regression of these lymphomas can only be studied after 1-2 mths of prev pak therapy for the eradication of H.Pylori.
Prev-Pac is the trade name for a packet containing three different drugs. They are Lansoprazole, Amoxycillin and Clarithromycin. These drugs are taken for 14 days to treat the stomach infection, Helicobacter pylori.
So the clear cut picture of whether the lymphoma is responding to the treatment or not can be obtained after 2 weeks.
If you need any more information then we are there to help you out.
Pls do keep us posted.
