I had a large (2cm) lump removed from my left breast last Friday. The doctor thought prior to surgery that it was a fibroademona but afterwards said some cells were "questionable" and had to be sent off. I don't get to hear anything until Wednesday afternoon. I am 34 with no family hx of breast cancer and no obvious risk factors like smoking, use of birth control, or obesity. He said the lump was completely removed and had well-defined edges. The ultrasound prior to the surgery said the lump was solid, irregular and had good see-through. As I have a small child, I am very worried about getting diagnosed with some aggressive cancer that is advanced given the size of the lump. Is there some way someone can give me some ideas of what to expect or what are the possibilities? I had a great surgeon with no bed-side manner. He was gone before I could get any clarification.
