I would recommend getting the BRCA testing given your family history. Sounds like you are keeping on top of your health care.
Thank you for your reply Londres. I do have a family histoy. My maternal grandmother and mother both died from breast cancer. So this surgery I just went throught really scared me. I have never had the BRCA testing and thinking maybe at this point in time,I should.
I will agree with the physician. Some abnormal tissue changes were noted from the biopsy. It is NO cancer now, but it must be monitored CLOSELY to make sure it stays stable. This situation puts you at a risk, but it does NOT necessarily mean you will have cancer DEFINITELY later on.
I would not be overlystressed at this point, but you must make sure you follow your physician's recommendations and have this monitored.
Anyone in your family (mother, grandmother, etc.) have or had Breast Cancer? Do you have a history of Breast Cancer?
