Sick 2.5 year old and abnormal levels in CBC

My 2.5 year old has elevated platelets the lab range cutoff is 400,000 and his have been 437000, 465000, 492000. Lactic acid is also elevated 3.64, sed rate cut off is 11 mm/hr and his is 49 mm/hr, CRP is slightly elevated at 26.4 and the cutoff is 25. He has smudge cells present, polychromasia present, 1+ ovalocytes present, and absolute Neutrophils is 7.15 and the cutoff on his lab is 5.38. I asked for a hematologist consolult and they denied to give a referral and just said they have no answer to why he is sick. Symptoms include on and off fever, chronic cough (clear xrays), stops eating for days to weeks at a time so he is also be fed by a pump. He also becomes very lethargic. Should I push for him to see a hematologist?
