Please don't worry about this. As an Oncology RN I can say there is no risk of cancer in this situation.
What you are saying is true, but it is a scary thought to that the only option is to wait it out.
Yes the phones are always 2 to 3 feet away from me. Also, I rarely use phones to call or text, and I have barely ever been called up while I was asleep.
I've read the same thing about the dangers of cell phones... potential radiation exposure and all. But, it's mainly in relation to the actual usage (like, right up next to your ear) and, over a prolonged period of time (several years). I've also read similar concerns about handsfree bluetooth devices. Anyhow, I suspect that the jury is still out on all of this... and we won't know for certain until many more years down the road.
But, the way I see it, since your's is on the floor... I'm guessing at least 2 feet away from you? ...I would think that it's far enough away to be within a safe range; and, I personally wouldn't lose any sleep over this.
