I had a cone biopsy on July 18. 3 weeks ago. For 2 days after the surgery I had no pain and no bleeding . But after two days! Oh God! I started bleeding and was in heavy cramps pain for a day. I was bleeding for 10 days straight and then I had only light brown spotting . I had my follow up with the doctor and he said I was healing well. And then suddenly 2 days after my follow up I started bleeding a lot. I called a nurse, she told me it's normal for bleeding to reoccur within4 weeks after the surgery. Now I have a weird dark bleeding , no odor. Slight low back pain. I m so tired of this

Thanks so much Rosehoney...

Your response did comfort me a little and I did talk to my doctor too and she seemed to tell me everything well during my cone biopsy and I am booked for another capolscopy on July 3. Hope nothing serious.

Worried,

I have heard that the black discharge is normal but if it continues for too long, you should call your doctor.  The cone biopsy will either come back normal or not and if it's not, there are several options for you.  It may just require a little more procedures.  I do want to let you know that what they are doing is trying to get rid of any bad cells (it's not cancer) in your body.  I have had a lot of friends that have gone through it and were fine.  The cone biopsy was enough to remove the cells.  I had a pap that came with LGSIL and had to have a colposcopy but the dr didn't find anything.  I will have to wait another 6 months for another pap and colposcopy.

I hope this helps but please keep posting if you need more explanation.  Good Luck!
