enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes concern

Never posted in a group like this, but I need more information. I am  a 23 year old female. non smoker. for years and years I've had severe acid reflux and GERD to the point I cant function some days or eat anything as it just comes back up. A little bit ago I was having really bad abdominal pains around my belly button. Just saw my specialist and he said I had infected mesenteric lymph nodes and that's what was causing my pain. They don't know why there is an infection. I'm due for a colonoscopy and another endoscopy end of February hopefully. My biggest concern is can it cause cancer? Is there a real worry for having infected mesenteric lymph nodes? Is there anything I can do in the mean time to lessen the discomfort ???
