stomach cancer

dear oncologist
i have two questions about stomach cancer.
1)is there any correlation between the stomach cancer and oil products?
2)can the stomach cancer (for example poorly differentiated adenocarsinoma) cause just diarrhea?
thanks

Hi,
The correlation between diet and cancer is a controversial issue. There are reports linking specific cancer to many dietary substances, but these associations are not found in all studies.
There is broad consensus in oncology literature that there is a definite correlation between fat and red meat intake and the development of certain cancers like colon and breast. However, data for correlating stomach cancer and high fat consumption is less robust.
Stomach cancer may be without any signs and symptoms in the early stage. In later stages, it usually presents with upper gastro-intestinal symptoms like early satiety, upper abdominal discomfort, vomiting, pain, and weight loss. However, it is possible for stomach cancer to cause other symptoms like diarrhea.
All the best, and God Bless!

Hi,
The correlation between welding and lung cancer is not very strong.
The known factors are: race (esp Japanese), H pylori, GERD and obesity, smoking radiation, Type A blood group, and consuming smoked foods etc. The occupations where this cancer is found at a higher rate than the general population include the rubber industry and the coal industry.
