This is added information about the previous question that I posted. My doctor prescribed Cardizem LA to prevent my blood pressure from spiking. It seems that my blood pressure is high when I visit any doctor or I stress out. Most other times my blood pressure is 124/80. However, when I visit my doctor my blood pressure will read 140-160/85-100. My doctor told me that new research shows that this particular spikes need to be prevented and at the same time my possible PVC's or PAC's would be reduced with this medicine. I have not started on this medication since I am wearing an event monitor to determine for certainty what is going on with the heart. My question, how good is this medicine for PVC or PAC? are PVC or PAC felt in the throat area?, can PVC's or PAC's be measured with an event monitor? My doctor had not recommended an event monitor because he said the contractions happened so quickly that they might not be measured I insisted otherwise. For the record, weight and cholesterol levels are all normal. I've had good health all my life.
Perhaps s/he means premature atrial or ventricular contractions.
I would refer that question to the obstretrics section
