Thanks for the update! I think your doctor knows best.
Hi there!
Last Monday (March 10) I went back to my doctor and he said as long as it is not swelling there's no need for me to take antibiotics. He said maybe there's a damaged nerve inside because of the deep wound caused by the bite..
Right now I feel like having a flu.. I still hope it's not associated with the bite because it's been 20 days already after the bite.
I'll keep you all posted and thanks to all of you, your advices/messages helps me a lot, it lessen my worries..
Hi dboldham,
Well I guess so far, so good, huh? Although any bite by an animal should always be looked at by a doctor--even if you just go to an emergency room. They have to report all animal bites so that animal can be guaranteed in case it has rabies. Even if it is a neighbors cat or dog.
That is just to be on the safe side. So next time you get bit, please see a doctor right away. They will give you the medical attention you need. You have been very lucky so far that your bites have not gotten infected or worse.

Hi Len,
What is happening with that bite of yours? Are you feeling ok?
Please let us know.
Thanks,

When I get a bite from a kitty. I oak it in very hot salt water for as ons as I can stand it. It takes out soreness and seems to draw out any infection.
Hi,
I honestly doubt you have rabies- I'm not sure where you are but in ny state, there have been no transmissions of rabies from cats to people. Raccons and bats are the most likely culprits.
You've been vaccinated for rabies and tetanus so I would try not to worry. If you have any redness or pain I would go back and get an antibiotic rx for sure, in fact you should do that anyway probably since cats do have pasteurlla in their mouths and that can cause a nasty infection.
I also think whatever anxiety you're feeling will pass in time :)
Hi Lencute,
I'm sorry about what happened to you. I'd be freaking out if a stray animal bit me. But, from what I've read, you have taken all the necessary precautions to avoid getting sick from the bite. But think about it, this cat may not even have rabies! I'm sure you'll be fine. Post traumatic stress disorder seems accurate to me.
Have a nice weekend! And don't worry!!
Hi ,
NO! I do not think you might have rabies!!!! You have already gone to the doctors and received shots--you should be fine. You just said the bite was starting to hurt , so I told you to go BACK to your doctor to be sure it is not just infected. He can answer any of your concerns. It is very hard to communicate those thoughts over the internet.
Just go see your doctor, K?
Thanks,
CML
Hi there CML!
Do you think I might have a rabies though I already got 3 shots? What are other diseases from a cat's bite?
Hi Lencute,
From what I understand you are already under a doctors care for this wound. That is excellent and as it should be. Cat bites are serious because they carry a great deal of bacteria that is driven deep into the skin by the puncture wound they inflict . After a cat bite a doctor should be seen immediately and antibiotics should also be prescribed along with a Tetanus booster shot. Waiting over a day may have caused you some complications.
Your doctor is the one to go back to TODAY--It sounds like you may have an infection brewing. Please see him.
Let us know what he says
