I have 1--but she has medical problems for 5, LOL.
She had Stomatitis and URI Syndrome as preexisting. That cost me $3,500
before I even got insurance. That was the amount of surgery to have all her teeth removed.
She has since been diagnosed with asthma and needs to use an inhaler once a day, along with the many problems this causes for her bronchial tubes. The medication for that is $140 a month---which Pet Plan pays for.
She also needs various antibiotics due to the Herpes virus causing the URI, which are made worse by the asthma.
Yep for a little runt rescue she has cost me more than a pure breed......but I would never want any other cat. She is the BEST little girl.

HI CML
Thanks so much for the insurance information. I will look into it. That's a small deductible too. How many cats do you own?
Hi Barbara,
I also live in Florida, way south of you. I use Pet Insurance out of Philadelphia, Pa.
They are also an option for you. I pay about $400 yearly, billed quarterly for the Platinum Plan. This does not cover routine check-ups but Meezy is there so often she never needs a routine check-up, LOL!
They are excellent to work with and they cover everything except the first $75.00 deductible. Evertyhing except previous conditions. You will need Rocco to have his Vet records sent to them before you are approved.
They have reimbursed me thousands of dollars....but then my Meezy has a lot of issues--mostly due to asthma discovered after I was insured with them. They even pay for her medications.
Check it out on their website Petinsurance .com
Good luck searching,

Hi Opus88
I can't thank you enough for the insurance information. I will check out the policy shortly. I will probably take Rocco to the vet early next week to examine the cyst. There is also a vet mobile that comes to the community once a month...I'm considering that.
Sorry to hear about your chronic pain. I have a mild form of neuropathy, I take B12 supplement for nerve pain. I also take Gabapentin for nerve pain. It helps quite a bit. Everyone in our community has health ailments, so I listen to many health stories. I hope you feel better. Walking is good for circulation.
best regards
Barbara and Rocco
Trupanion is one that comes to mind.....however I read yr other post concerning yr kitties cyst and you need to know just as human insurances they have a "wait" period before coming into effect...this is usually a month, you would need to check that out for sure, also like all insurances they of course won't cover an EXISTING condition....meaning you would need to wait the required time BEFORE seeing a Vet and getting a diagnosis...I'm not sure what's happening with the growth kitty has but I can't really advise you wait that long,
Search out different insurance companies, read thru their policies...they can be very involved and complicated...but make sure you understand the wait period than decide IF it's wise to wait that long before seeing a Vet:(
My experience with pet insurance is that it costs enough to make you think twice, and exempts most of the expensive things. Look carefully at the things it won't pay for, when you are reading the prospectus.
