We took her to the vet and she said that she's perfectly fine :) !
The hair loss is just cause she's rubbing her arms on the carpet.
She's booked to go into the vet next week, but I think I've found the problem! Is it possible for cats to get a sort of rug burn? This cat loves to claw the carpet and pull herself forward. I joke that its her mode of transportation. Could it be that she's rubbing her arms against the carpet too much? Creating a type of rug burn or just hair loss?
With all those different pets in the household, you might want to consider the possibility of some sort of external parasite (like fleas, but also chyletellia (walking dandruff) and others).
I think a trip to the veterinarian is warranted so that your DVM can see first hand what is happening.
Another option to consider is to post this question in the expert Ask A Vet forum and get some feedback from the veterinarians.
Good luck!
Hi,
I'm pretty sure its not fleas because we havent found any, anywhere. We also have a dog and bunnies in the same house and there's no sign of fleas. She was last at the vet in november for her check up.
It makes sense that she has an allergy, but it seems that its not fleas.
Hi olivia...
It's possible that the cats have fleas and the one losing hair is allergic to fleas. Have you seen any live fleas or have either of the cats been to the veterinarian recently?
