Cat with Red Swollen Anus

My cat has recently smelt like she had poo stuck to her so I went to check today and she has licked all the fur from around her anus and it is red and swollen.  She still has a small amount of poo on the fur out around the area she has licked the fur off of.  We have recently changed her food due to a bladder problem with our other cat.  However my vet said that this should not pose a problem for both cats to eat it.  She does seem to be eating but not as much as usual and I do see her occasionally at the water dish.  I have tried to wipe off what poo I can but I think she is very sore.  Is there anything I can do for her for the weekend till I can get her to the vet on Monday.  I have just paid almost $1000.00 on the other cat and I am starting to run short on funds.  Please help. Thanks

Thanks for the info.  I have been watching her and she seems to be better. I have changed her food back.  The only reason for the change in food was due to a problem with our male cat.  I just have to keep a close eye on the food dishes and have been removing all food when I am not home to watch.

Thanks again.

hi Nancy, I don't think you need to rush her to a Vet, IMO she's had a bout of diarrhea due to the rapid change in diet, with the extra poops and constant licking to try and clean her anus its become irritated. gently clean it for her with a soft wet cloth, dry the area well and apply just a small amount of vaseline, very small amount b/c she will lick this off too and it can have a laxative effect...
always change diets slowly by mixing 50/50 with old food to prevent any GI upset..
hope she'll be fine♥
