I have six out-door cats. They are merciless hunters. On any given day, I will open my front door to find piles of small corpses on my porch. It's really disgusting. I wonder why the cats don't just eat them?!?! I guess that would be too easy... my dogs eat them instead. :P One of my dogs will eat, look at me, burp very loudly, then grin at me with all her teeth showing. Now that never fails to crack me up.
Queen Victoria, indeed!! Bob is the same way-he loves the crunchy plastic that snack cakes come in and will watch where you put the snack away and if you inadvertently leave that drawer or cabinet open-even days later-he swoops right in and gets to work looking for his treasure!! And same w/watching you dispose of the plastic on top of frozen meals; he watches you peel it off, stick it in the empty tray, put the tray in the box and shove that in the garbage. He strategically waits a while, the pulls the whole thing out and gets his plastic out of the box! We have to be super thorough disposing of this type of trash because he's very determined and loves to chew on the plastic for some reason. And, of course, alot of you know already, Bob and Spirit have thier own water glasses on my nightstand and the coffee table-no mere water bowls for these 2! They've never knocked them over or spilled them, either!
Heya;
I used to participate in historical re-creation event quite a lot.
One of the characters I portrayed was a Renaissance era Chevalier (think 3 Musketeers).
When Victoria and Cammie were young ('83 - '86), we had a floor to ceiling kitty tree for them.
I had hanged my plumed hat on the wall at what I thought an unattainable distance from the cat tree.
I heard a thump, and Victoria had gotten the hat from wall to floor, obviously interested in the ostrich plume. I took it away from her and placed it in the bottom drawer of a filing cabinet.
She was sitting in front of the drawer, head tilting from side to side as if she were assessing the situation.
"Victoria," says I as she looks up to me, "if you can get the drawer open, you can have the feather."
I went into the kitchen to make myself a sandwich. Suddenly I heard a low thumping, like someone hitting a speed bag.
Back into the living room.
Victoria was hitting the side of the file cabinet, would pause and look at the drawer, and then resume the hitting...
"Victoria," she paused and looked up, "do you know where feather is?"
She resumed her "sparring," the drawer opened up just enough for her to hook her claws on the edge and get it open.
Victoria got the feather.
Cute boys, uh?Loved the story.
Loreena loves playing with holes _ she already tried even with the one at the vet examination table !
I had part on this since I always stimulated these jokes inside and outside her carrier (hers is the one with good round holes, kids ones have only fences...)
So she now decided for change normal cardboxes ( they also love those)in a new "toy with hole ".First she have fun doing the hole - them they all use that for playing fight or so!
One of my cats will go to the cupboard where her toys are, open it, stand there looking in a considering fashion for a while, then take out a toy and play with it. Not UTube material, though, it's not lively enough. But she's definitely amusing. Her daddy will rub the face of our dog, and bop the dog, and roll over, and all of that, while the confused dog jumps around the cat not knowing what to do. That's not as smart, but it would make a better video. :)
