Elderly cat, seizure, possible stroke?

NWS
My 17 year-old cat had surgery 2 wks ago for an abscessed tooth and seemed to be slowly recovering. She finished her antibiotic and pain meds post surgery. She is still drinking her water, but eating very little. She has lost about a third of her weight. She lies under the bed curled up in a ball and has to be coaxed to come out.

Occasionally she will lie in the sun, which she was doing earlier, however when she stood up, she fell over and appeared to have a seizure. Now, when I can get her out from under the bed, she is walking crooked, veering to the left and stumbling. I keep hoping she will improve, but it's not happening yet.

I plan to call the vet in the morning, but I'm just not sure what to do. I think she likely has had a stroke. Since she is old, I hesitate to try heroic measures with her if it is a stroke. Has anyone experienced this before? Any advice? If not a stroke, what else could cause these symptoms?

Thanks so much for any suggestions anyone can offer.

oh the poor little tyke....yes indeed she could well have suffered a stroke or seizure or both. I would take her into a Vet asap...
I don't know what she was on for meds? it could be a side effect of some meds...
can also be due to losing so much of her body weight so quickly causing whats called Hepatic Lipidosis

Please don't just call a Vet, if she were my cat I'd rush her to a clinic....she needs some help asap.

Thanks so much for your help and concern. I did take my kitty to the vet and he "cleaned" her surgical site, gave her an antibiotic and pain meds. Unfortunately, he also said if this doesn't clear up, she will need an x-ray and biopsy, due to the possibility of cancer.

Hopefully she will be fine.

This sounds like the symptoms that our Calamity Jane Grey had after her first stroke.  She was doing fine on a therepy our vet gave us, but unfortunately she suffered a second, more massive one a couple weeks later and we had to make the "Final Visit" with her.

But, Cammie was over 21, which is ancient.

17 is a very good run at life, too; hopefully there is something "better wrong" than a stroke.
