Oh Sandy, I am deeply sorry for your loss of Tom.  I have read through your thread, and you went well and beyond to help your boy.  In case you've never read 'The Rainbow Bridge", I will post it for you with the hope it gives you some small measure of comfort.  RIP Tom.  Hugs to you honey~

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

He passed away Tuesday March 12, 2013. The sarcoma was bigger than a softball. He pulled out a chuck of his hair, which caused him to bleed quite a bit. The last two days of his life were pretty bad, I am so very, very sad. I put his carrier down in front of him, and he basicly got in it himself, he was ready. I cried when I got home!!! To have to clean up the blood he left behind. My house is so empty, I still look for him. I miss him dearly! Thanks, for all your care and concern and I hope all things are well with you.    (Tom 2003-2013) : (

well I''m glad you are going to give it a try, however I must say this is by no means a cure...there is no cure for sarcomas I am sorry to say, not even surgery..all that or anything will do is hopefully delay the growth for a bit longer....you are going to have to keep a very close eye on your kitty and be ready to allow your Vet to prescribe good pain treatment when the time comes and not allow him to be in pain...and it will come I'm afraid, you will have to be strong for your baby and help him with his pain and also be ready to make that final decision for him to be put to sleep when its time, and not allow him to suffer.
I am so very sorry for you and for all the dear kitties who have this terrible disease, I wish I could give you more positive hope....all you can do is buy him a bit more quality time I hope...surgery is awfully invasive and the sarcoma will return each and everytime...so love your baby and enjoy each beautiful day with him.♥

Hi opus88

Thank you again, and I order the Doctor-s-Best-Best-Curcumin-C3-Complex-500-mg-120-Capsules/13. I really want to keep my Tom so at this point this is what I'm going to try. Because surgery didn't work, and my vet, would Only recommend more surgery or put him down, and I can't deal with that at all right now. I love my boy and I am not ready to give up!

Sandy

The Vet was very positive he got all of it out, the lump appear on his side, he had to cut some musle he said, and there was no amputation. My cat Tom still play with his sister and eats very well and he's very active but this thing, now look bigger and is closer to his neck! I even got a 2nd opinion, the first time, and I was told surgery was the only option. Now, Tom is 10 and he has a slight heart problem, this surgery cost me $940.00, money I can't spend again. Should I take him to the doctor again? What should I do? I'm very, very sad, I know if the doctor gives me a bad report I'm going to cry day in and day out like the first time I got the report. Every time I looked at Tom, I sit a cry.

sandy I am so sorry to read this, these darn sarcoma's do usually return but we would sure hope not as quickly as this, less than 2 months thats awful. did the Vet only remove the tumor or was there an amputation also?
there are some supplements that are reported to help reduce tumor size..no cure but perhaps a delay(?)
I have also read that LipoC vitamin C injected into the tumor can reduce the size, you could talk to your Vet/Oncologist abt this treatment. this LipoC from LivOnLabs has a very high absorption rate....and can also be given orally it comes in packets...you need to open the packet and let air for 1/2 hr so the alcohol can escape before it is safe to give to kitties. than give 1 packet daily spaced out in meals.

I have also read abt the tumor reducing properties of Turmeric...for people and cats as well. you need a turmeric extract that contains 100% certified organic ingredients with a min. of 95% curcuminoids...free of fillers and addititives. the best one for Cats is by Dr. Best I know for sure you can give 500mg a day(spaced)...by opening the capsule and mixing with food. I'm not sure if the dose can go higher for cats or not? again speak to a good holistic Vet or oncologist, they 'should' know. I'm only a pet parent and have written down info as I read it from other sources...I order often from iherb, they are a trusted source for all supplements, human or pet. I tell everyone to quote this code and get $4-10 off your first order...b/c I am a frequent buyer.....good luck and keep us posted on your dear kitty♥
