I don't know what even happened

I was put into the responsibility of taking care of my step-moms new cat today. Well, it escalated quickly. She hasn't even had the cat for a day yet, and its gone. I was at her house, working some work i had to do. I was hanging out on my bed when I went outside to play with my dog. I came back indoors to see she wasn't there. Now, I have to put a piece of wood to keep my doors shut and that uses it when you open it, to bounce backwards. I am pretty sure the door closed, but I am unsure. And now I can not find the cat. And, she didn't even have a name for it yet to call it by. I have no clue what to do and if you could help me, that would be great! Thanks!! <3

If it had a chance to use the litter box before he went missing, set it outside, the he will recognize his own scent and return to that box.

Like zodiac said search the house very thoroughly, he could very well just be scared an found somewhere to hide...and cats can fit into very small spaces, keep leaving food out (somewhere away from the dog) if he is in the house he will sneak out when your sleeping to eat/ drink and use litter box...make sure you also have one inside too.

Sure hope you soon locate him, he likely isn't far away :) let us know okay.

More than likely, the cat is probably hiding and scared. New surroundings is always very intimidating to a cat that's only been there for a day or two.

Before you start panicking, look very carefully under beds and in closets.
