I have never posted on this site, but have a favor to ask

I have never posted here, but was wondering if you could take a moment to read the journal I just posted about putting down my beloved cat. I am trying to find some advice and find it quickly.

Thank you so much!!

Well, zodiacqueen, you obviously didn't read the entire journal.  For the record, not that I have to justify anything to you, but since you felt it was your right to be judgmental about something that you know ALL of three paragraphs about!!!  He has ALWAYS peed outside the litter box, the blood in the urine hasn't always been there and up until a few months ago he was acting like he always has acted...which we knew to be a healthy and normal sign since we talked to the vet about him on a REGULAR basis.  Also, what you don't know is that since he was a rescue cat, there were a numerous amount of emotional issues and trying to take him to the vet put him into such a state of anxiety and panic that he would poo and pee all over himself as soon as he got put into the cage to go.  The vet told us what things to look for to be causes for concern and hence the reason that was made to put him down at this time.

I am more than willing to get my animals medical care if and when the time calls for it, but I am also a realist and to spend $2000 + for testing for an animal that is 18 or so years old is not realistic.

And again, I am not sure how you can assume that it was ONLY a bladder infection from the few paragraphs that I had written NOR can I understand what would prompt you to write such a harsh and offensive reply when you only know my situation from a few paragraphs.

I hope that you are kinder to your animals than you are to your fellow humans.

Well, I read it and from what you described it sounds like the cat has a bladder infection.  Classic signs are blood in the urine and peeing outside the litter box.  It sounds like you've let it go for a very very long time, and the infection might be in the kidneys now.  I honestly don't understand how you could let this cat suffer for so long, all the cat needs is some antibiotics.  Why have an animal if you aren't willing to get it medical care.  I will NEVER understand this.
