1- I AM NOT giving her treats frequently - she eats all junk she met on the way . I can only take care about my trash, even so its not easy. Cats are too much smart!
2- No problem with her eating lizards except that they can have eaten poisoned insects... I feel better when the poor one is moving, must be a health one.
3- Take her to another vet , she said I should give her just one brand and wait a month to see.I doubt she accept, girl is crazy about variety and eat at lest 2 together. None of then is new and they never caused her harm
4- Personally, junk food apart, I guess great part is due to stress; girl is just like her stepmother!
Oh yummy....Lizards!!! Hope Loreena is feeling better........sara
I do not see anything wrong with allowing babies to eat lizards. Momma is teaching them after all, and caring for them. Cats eat lizards, birds, mice etc. Out of those meals, I'd be most comfortable letting them eat lizards. My cats eat lizards, too. But, please keep feeding them their regular diet. Kittens do need special nutrition and more nutrients than adult cats.
As to Loreena. Is there a pattern to her diarrhea? Is it after she eats the treats? Please don't feed her too many treats. They lack nutrition. They are equivalent to a piece of candy for humans. Only empty calories.
What could be causing loose stools? Hmm...diet, parasites, stress, or a sudden health condition NOT life threatening. Maybe the treats are causing this? I would stick to just one type of food and stop the treats for now. If the diarrhea continues I would change her food. I'm not sure what brands you have in Brazil but I can certainly tell you about some good foods with very, very balanced nutrition. And hopefully you will be able to find and afford it.
Keep the updates coming k?
Hugs!
oh you and Loreena sure do have your tales!!...If I read you correctly, Loreena wants to eat the special treats and not her good diet?...treats are only to be given in very small amounts and only occasionally or all kitties will begin to prefer that over their good diet!
Don't be overly concerned abt her loose poops...occasionally that will happen.
And I'm sure she has had many lizards before if she is used to living and doing for herself before she came to you...kitties usually know what foods that are harmful to them.
Did the Vet say it was ok for the babies to eat the lizard too?
How old are those babies now? are they eating kitten food yet or just milk from Loreena?
