Lumps in cat's belly?

I adopted an angel of a cat six months ago, and the woman said she was about 6 years old though I think that was more a guess than anything. When we got her, she was fairly skinny and her coat was dull, but she was perky and curious. She ate A LOT and seemed to be always hungry. Over time she fattened up, mostly in the belly and sides. We thought for a long time she was pregnant, but it's been over three months since she's had contact with any other cats (she's indoor, only pet) but there are still lumps in her belly and she's shaped very much like a pregnant kitty. The nipples got enlarged and droop somewhat. She still eats constantly, and seems to get bigger all the time.

Anyway, we're really worried something is wrong with her and we have absolutely no money- barely enough to not be homeless, let alone take her to the vet. I'm so scared because I love her so much. Does anyone know what might be going on with my baby?

There must be a Humane Society or SPCA in Centralia that could help you, at least to get your cat a diagnosis.  Please get on the phone and see if any of the charities can get your cat in to be seen.  You are certain she could not have gotten out and gotten pregnant?

Joey, I am so sorry to have to be telling you not very good news, this sounds very much like it must be cancerous mammary tumors.. I know how it is not to have any spare money....but your kitty is suffering and unfortunately you are going to somehow have to find a few extra dollars to do whats right for her..when you can't afford to medically treat a pet than unfortunately you have to somehow find the money to put her to sleep...you can't just leave her and allow her to die a slow and painful death. To euthanize a cat will cost you under $100. Please help your dear kitty and not allow her to suffer..
I'm very sorry for such sad news :( my heart goes out to you both.
