My Kitten

Hello!
My kitten he's only 10weeks old he hurt his back leg and is lumping he was fine on it yesterday running around for about 5minutes, he wouldn't get up 2 eat he's not even moving 2 go for his food and today he was shaking and still not going for his food, and all he's doing is lying down but not going sleep.
Just wanna know if I should take him 2 the vets or should I just keep a eye on him?
Thank you

I do agree w/ you about the shaking and trouble sleeping are possible side effects of a vaccine.  These signs could also be from pain from an injury, too.

Either cause needs to be investigated to get this kitten healthy and happy again.  I truly hope that Steph gets this kitten to the vet.

ZQ...the side effect possibilities I was referring to were the symptoms of shaking and inability to sleep...

I agree the limping is definitely not a side effect of any vaccine...unless the needle was inserted in that limb and caused some muscle &/or nerve injury to that area....NOT from the vaccine itself but from the needle, she indicated it was not...therefore yes, has to be an injury:(

Is he any better today? is he still limping and needing to be carried to litter box and food dish? still shaking? if he hasn't made a SIGNIFICANT improvement with all these he needs to see a Vet right away I agree with other posters...

let us know okay

If he was running, then all of a sudden he is limping it's probably an injury.  I do not think this is a side effect.  I've had enough cats to know that side effects to vaccines do not include the cat being unable/unwilling to walk.  They might wind up feeling like poop, but it does not affect their ability to walk.  The rabies shot especially makes cats feel bad.  I used to dread getting them that shot, but it's the law where I live.

Anyway, your kitten really needs to be seen by a vet.  He's a growing baby and can't afford to miss meals and exercise.  Please get him to a vet.

See that's what I thought it was, just a reaction because I looked on other websites and they was saying that as well, no it was done in between the shoulder blades, I didn't see him hurt himself but he's limping on it & that's what I'm guessing, he was running down the stairs and then the next thing I knew he was limping. But he is eating & drinking so that's good :)
Thanks for all your help x

the shaking and not sleeping normally like most cats do....is a sign that he could possibly be having a reaction....

was the injection done in the leg/hip he is limping on? if so than yes it could be b/c of the injection...not a side effect but more of a nerve injury, but this doesn't normally happen, did you see an injury happen somehow or are you just guessing he injured it?

as long as he's eating and drinking than eliminating thats great!!! but if he's not able to walk much better by today than I would certainly still have the Vet take a look at it.

I definitely agree with Opus88 and CML2014. Your kitty needs to
be seen by a vet asap to determine what is going on with your furbaby
and more importantly what to do next.  Good luck to both of you.

hi Steph.....absolutely take this kitten to a Vet asap!!!! he is showing signs of pain, it could be only a sprain but it could well be broken...regardless this kitty needs attention now...anytime a cat isn't eating is very dangerous..as I just mentioned in another post abt calorie restriction..cats can very quickly go into Hepatic Lipidosis a disease unique to cats, they go into liver failure if not eating or restricting calories for even just a day or two...this rapidly becomes a medical emergency...so don't hesitate take him in today...
wishing you both the best of luck, please update us okay:)
