My cat has died ;(
I am in the same boat as you waitingwithhope.
My little mate, Bobo has had a Urinary Tract Infection since he was born, however strict our diet was on little Bobo or how many times we took him to the vets for his injections and tablets it wasnt enough.
It pains me to think he was only 4 years old. He had another 10-15 years in him and to lose him so early is devestating to me.
He was the only survivor of a 12 kitten litter and was always expecting him to be weak but on Friday I saw him take a turn for the worse. He was couging up foam and went off his legs. Due to the weekend callout prices we continued to give him his tablets like normal. Monday night I lay with him for half hour and just told him how much I loved him and that I wont let him be in pain no more. Its the hardest thing ive ever had to do as he was my first pet.
We took him to the vets yesterday and they said his bladder had swollen and his kidneys had failed.
Im beating myself up to think if I had the call out vets over the weekend he would still be with us but at the same time the vets think he was on the decline long before then.
Im so lost and lonely without "my shadow". Everyday he would come upto me and headbutt me (that was his way of kissing me) he would also cry out when people in the house were shouting. He was so fat and so lazy but I wish I had my fatty man back with me ;( ;(

I'm sorry you lost your kitty! Poor little guy, at least now he isn't suffering. I can see him running in the sunshine beyond the rainbow bridge. May you find some comfort here.
As Jade said, little Bobo was so lucky to have you and you know he loved you. It's so hard to let go of them, but sometimes we have no choice. I hope the poem, Rainbow Bridge gives you some comfort and please accept my sorrow for your loss.

Oh, no, I am so sorry to hear of your dear Bobo's passing. Please try to give yourself a break and know you did everything you possibly could for him. Poor little one was weak to begin with and lucky to have such a caring owner as you. My heart goes out to you and the loss of your special family member. Warm Hugs...♥
*Rainbow Bridge*
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

It is never easy to lose someone we love (and I have found over the years that our companion animals are indeed Someones), whether they are young, old or in between, whether it is sudden or expected...it always hurts. It should hurt. If it didn't, I know I'd be questioning my heartlessness.
We do what we can as we can and sometimes everything right, isn't enough.
Bobo had more living, and from your description of your care, good living than he otherwise would have had.
Keep that good in mind and take care of you. Time heals, but does not erase...another little furry heart thief will enter your life.

I'm so sorry. Most of us here have lost pets, as has been said before, but it still bears repeating. Pets become family members to us, so we feel the same pain as we do when a human member of the family dies. I'm so sorry for your loss.
It will always hurt a little bit. Maybe someday another cat will steal your heart again. Many of us here have lost cats and dogs. It always hurts, but over time it will just get easier to cope with.
Very sorry for your loss. I'm going to see if your post can be moved to our Cat's community where many other members may be able to help you in the days to come ...
