Oh, Pip, isn't that the truth how our pets help us in our times of sadness? They get us up and going when it's the very last thing we want to do. We love them and want them to be happy which tends to help us forget all about ourselves for a while. Would be a world of hurt sometimes without our babies to propel us forward. They can do magic!!!!
Thanks so much for this update. I'm happy to see Teia is getting over her thunderstorm shock. That took a while, didn't it. Maybe next time will be a little easier for her, although sadly, some pets never get used to loud noises.
Thinking of you, Pip, and hoping you're having a good day...at least, today : ) *Hugs*
As I sit here typing, Missy T is resting on the mat by the tub in the Master Bath.
I was doing some tidying and in she walks, sniffigates around a bit, has a nosh and a drink of water, then settles down. Stared calmly as Kessie and then Hildie come in to take a look at her.
Hissed, growled a little when Chessie came in after that, but held her ground.
Even though her tail was twitching up a storm, she still let me scritch her head after that.
I guess not having thunder-boomers for a couple of days has helped.
Well, we had a bit of 3 steps forward, 2 steps back the past couple of weeks.
After a thunderstorm 2 weeks ago, went looking for Miss Teia...all the usual spots in either bedroom.
Finally caught a glimpse of white, under the bureau in the guest room poking out from behind the kitty carrier in which we brought her home. She was nested, paws forepaws folded in a ladylike manner.
Teia only came our for meals for a few days, but has started enjoying the sun on her window seat.
Last night she came back into the master bedroom for the first time in 2 weeks.
About midnight I was wakened by some hissy-spitting. Chessie had gone around that side of the bed, but retreated.
By the time I actually got up at 4:30, Chessie was laying next to me and Teia was back in her room.
I announced food o'clock and Chessie ambled off to the kitchen. As soon as she was past the door, Miss T came to her bowl and Hildie was sitting a couple of feet away in her usual spot.
Kessie showed up from wherever Kessie goes at night.
So, looks like we're back to where we can make a little progress again.
I've noticed that Miss T does better when I am out of my depressive episodes; a spur for me to try harder for myself. =)
